New Year can typically turn out to be a bit of an anti-climax, so read on if you're determined do something extra special this year - there's still time to get organised!

Three of Marlow's hotels have organised parties to help you welcome the New Year in with style - perfect if you feel like putting on a bit of glitz.

The Strictly Crowne Plaza Ball will be taking place in a sea of sequins this year. Expect to dance the night away Strictly Come Dancing-style after a sumptuous five-course dinner.  The evening finished off with a firework display over the lake.  Tiekcts cost £85 per person and dress code is black tie.

If your dancing style is more disco diva than ballroom, Crowne Plaza are also throwing a more relaxed party in the bar, which includes a buffet dinner, dj and dancing.  Tickets for this cost £60 per person and rooms are from £79 if you fancy staying over too.

A short drive up the Henley Road to Danesfield House Hotel will deliver you via the torchlit driveway to the hotel's glamorous Gourmet Gala Dinner.  Your New Year evening here includes Champagne, canapes and a delicious dinner followed by dancing to a live five-piece swing band.  Tickets cost £145 per person (from £275 if you stay over).

Back in the centre of town, the Compleat Angler will be welcoming guests to a Champage reception at 7.15, followed by a delicious five-course meal in Bowaters, followed by fireworks on the lawn at midnight. Expect to pay £129 per person - prices from £240 to include an overnight stay.

Thanks for this article, very helpful. I was struggling to work out where to celebrate New Years Eve. All three listed look like winners, now all my husband and I just have to choose one.
