Marlow Cycle path update

The introduction of a new £278,000 cycle track in Marlow, designed to connect the town's schools and make the town more cycle-friendly, has met with a mixed reaction since it was completed last month.

Will removing the offending sign make the new Marlow cycle path easier to follow?
We have spoken with more than a few local cyclists who seem to be more than a little disappointed with the new pathway and only last week, local newspapers highlighted another complaint, this time from 63 year-old resident, Tony Ketley.
In an interview, Mr Ketley stated his belief that people are not using the path partly because of the 'End of Route' sign that is still standing next to the Little Marlow entrance and has not been taken down by the council.
Like other keen local cyclists, Mr Ketley points out that the path is also easy to miss. In fact, there is nothing obvious around the town to suggest the cycle path even exists!
Transport for Buckinghamashire have since stated that they will remove the offending sign but given the amount of money that has been spent on the project so far, the general feeling still seems to be that something more needs to be done to raise general awareness about the new route.

Ideally there would be provision on both sides of the road. The fact that it requires two traffic-light crossings is frustrating. My route into town starts on the wrong side and requires a difficult negotiation to the other side with no crossing aids - and the reverse on the homeward leg - so I can't be bothered top use it.
A far pleasanter route would have been: Gunthorpe Rd, Westhorpe Rd. Newfield Rd, allotments path, Claremenont Rd, High Street. If you added a cycle pushing-ramp to the blue footbridge we could get into Bourne End.
