Plans for a Music Festival to run in Marlow's Riley Park on 3rd September have been abandoned, after a lack of sponsorship and poor demand for tickets.

Sad news: The Riley Park Music Festival will not take place this year.
The Life of Riley Music Festival was due to raise funds for The Rile Park Trust and Marow FM but with a lack of response, organiser, Paul Mansell felt unable to take the finaniclal risk of moving ahead with plans.
To make the event a success in the current climate, 500 people would have needed to have turned up on the day and this was looking unlikely - last year there were only 50.
The Marlow event is one of 31 other festivals across the UK that have been cancelled or postponed for a later date.
Marlow FM is looking to hold a similar but smaller scale music event to raise money for Longridge and the music station - we'll try to keep you updated here, so watch this space.....

I think sponsorship seems to be the big issue. I wonder in this case if it might be something to do with the timing? Personally, by the beginning of September, I've usually spent all my 'holiday' money and am getting ready to head back into school and work mode again.

ReportI am so sorry to hear that the event has been cancelled, we were really looking forward to it. I guess there are just too many other events that are drawing the sponsorship funds

ReportWhat a shame! I hear lots of music festivals across the UK have been cancelled this year though... Everybody too skint maybe?
