Councils look for cost savings by joining forces

We could find ourselves living in the first county to have a triple district partnership, which is aimed to save £millions.
It has been officially announced that Chiltern District Council (CDC), South Bucks District Council and Wycombe District Council intend to bring together their officer teams with a single joint Chief Executive, as opposed to the current three.
This will be welcome news to those who have felt the Councils were avoiding self examination, and were planning 3 years worth of budget cuts without consideration for internal streamlining. This step should appease some critics, and is hopefully the first of many such alliances. Hopefully Marlow can follow suit in some way.
