just received an email from another friend, regarding another dog attack which took place tonight in the Rookery.
A friend of mine was walking her yorkshire terrier through Rookery park this afternoon at about 4:30. There were apparently 2 dogs in the park, 1 small and 1 larger. The small dog came up and before my friend had the chance to pick her dog up she was pinned to the ground. The owner did come up to take the dog away but it was not until after the dog has gone that the damage to the Yorkshire terrier was realised. She is at the vets overnight and having an operation tomorrow and may loose her eye. If you are the owner or know the owner and would like to contact the other dog please get in touch.
I just wanted to make other dog owners aware that there are unfriendly dogs out there. I always assume that if a dog is off it's lead then it is friendly, clearly this is not always the case.
We took out dog out in the woods - was with my husband and two young children- and saw this lady with her kids and a white dog that looked like some kind of s***** cross. It came bounding over to us and sniffed at our dog who jumped away. It came at him again and tried to jump on his back and then just went for him.
My husband was completely fearless and literally grabbed our dog and lifted him up before the other one managed to get a hold - I dread to think what would have happened if he hadn't got hold of him - the other dog wasn't even wearing a collar!
Now I'm really nervous if I see other dogs coming towards us. You just never know and it just seems to me that some owners are completely irresponsible.
Just seen a dog of the same description as in the report (sandy coloured staffie) have a go at a labrador by the river at Spade Oak, Little Marlow. No damage done to the lab thankfully.
Seems quite likely this is the same dog and owner as reported. Am going to avoid taking my dog out around here from now on!
The staffie owner was in his 20's-30's, white male, short dark hair with a slight quiff at the front, blue and white tracksuit. He had 2 dogs, the aggressive one was a light coloured staffie with quite pointy-up ears and the other a dark brindle staffie (which did not join in the attack).
After the attack he put the light coloured dog on the lead briefly whilst the lab ran off then let it free to run again almost immediately afterwards.
Have given description to police. Hope this is stopped before any dogs get even more seriously hurt. Please be very careful if you walk in this area.
