What do you think of the Booker stadium ruling? I can exactly see why local residents would oppose but on the other hand, could it not have brought lots of new jobs to the area too???

I'm celebrating. For me it was mostly a green issue. I always had a big problem with a large area of my local countryside being torn up to make way for a big stadium that will in turn bring huge crowds flooding into the area. I just don't think this particular area could have coped and it would have had awful implications for anyone living nearby.

I agree with sallyb251, cancelling the stadium development is the right decision on so many levels. For the environment, for the tax payers who want to see their money better spent, for the homeowners or businesses that would be negatively impacted.

I've got to admit it's even more simple than that for me. I just didn't particualry want crowds of people flooding into the area for matches every weekend. I moved from Shepherds Bush (near the football stadium) to get away from all that!
