A serious fire broke out at a house in North Close, Medmenham this afternoon.

Fore engines were called to the family home on the private RAF housing estate near Marlow.  Although no official reports have been released as yet, reports from neighbours on Facebook all express relief that thankfully, no-one was hurt.

No-one is sure how the fire started but there has been speculation that the fire may have originated from the family's oil boiler or garage.

According to eyewitnesses, the family's car was destroyed and the house itself was completely gutted by flames.

As someone with many friends on the 'Patch', my sympathies are with the family.  Small comfort is that the estate is home to a very caring and supportive community which will no-doubt rally round at this difficult time.
