Safety fears over the A404 'gay-by'
By Lizstout | Friday, May 13, 2011, 14:50
Any Marlow resident who regularly travels on the A404 between the M4 and Marlow cannot fail to notice the line of cars that appear to be almost permanently parked along the stretch of layby on the the approach to the Bisham roundabout.
Well known as a popular spot for gay men in search of sex with strangers, the area could be about to undergo a major clean-up if campaigning local Bisham Parish councillors get their way.
Councillors are concerned that the layby activity poses a real road safety threat due to the volume of cars parked there, day and night. Tired truckers are increasingly unable to pull over to rest.
If plans proceed, the bushes and greenery that line the layby will be cleared and removed in an attempt to deter people from using it inappropriately.
